Cyber Resilience Webinar: Why Security Alone Fails

cyber resilience – A live webinar tomorrow at 2:00 PM ET explains why MSPs must rethink security and recovery as AI phishing and ransomware evolve.
Cyberattacks are no longer satisfied with breaching networks; they are increasingly built to slip past defenses, keep pressure on operations, and stretch recovery timelines after compromise.
Tomorrow at 2:00 PM ET. a live webinar will take a close look at that shift. using the theme “From phishing to fallout: Why MSPs must rethink both security and recovery.” The session is hosted by BleepingComputer and features Austin O’Sabin and Adam Marget of Kaseya. with a focus on how modern incident response can’t rely on prevention alone.
The discussion centers on an environment where adversaries are moving faster than many traditional controls.. AI-driven phishing. ransomware. SaaS abuse. and business email compromise have all become part of the mainstream toolkit. and the webinar argues that defenses designed for older patterns struggle to keep up when campaigns are more personalized and operationally disruptive.
A key driver behind the change is how attackers approach access.. Instead of relying only on brute-force tactics. the webinar will highlight how threat actors increasingly use trusted infrastructure. legitimate cloud services. and highly tailored phishing to gain entry into business environments.. In that setting. an organization may “see something suspicious” but still find it difficult to interrupt the attack cycle before it turns into broader disruption.
Even when suspicious activity is detected, the hard part often comes afterward: containment and recovery.. Many organizations. it was reported. continue to struggle to stop incidents quickly and restore normal operations without interruption. which can turn a detected intrusion into a prolonged operational problem.
The webinar also points to the reality that cyber incidents rarely end at the first sign of compromise. Ransomware campaigns, SaaS compromise activity, and business email compromise operations can continue disrupting work long after attackers have established access.
Where recovery strategies are weak, the consequences can linger.. Sources indicate that organizations without strong recovery planning often experience extended downtime. operational disruption. and higher recovery costs even after an incident has been identified and contained.. In that sense, the webinar frames cyber resilience as a practical business requirement rather than purely a technical one.
Kaseya. which provides cybersecurity. backup. and IT management solutions. is positioned in the session as an example of how resilience can be strengthened by combining multiple layers rather than treating them separately.. The aim is to connect prevention. detection. backup. and rapid recovery capabilities across environments so organizations can respond more effectively when attacks unfold.
The session will also tackle a problem many teams face after initial compromise: where security strategies commonly fall short once attackers are already inside.. It will address how ransomware and identity-adjacent threats can keep operating. and how SaaS-related abuse can create additional pathways for attackers to maintain disruption.
For email-based threats, the webinar highlights why AI-driven phishing and brand impersonation are outpacing traditional email security approaches.. The underlying issue is that attackers can craft messages that look more convincing and tailored. increasing the odds that malicious attempts blend in long enough to trigger downstream damage.
On the infrastructure side. the session is set to explore how attackers leverage trusted infrastructure and SaaS platforms to bypass defenses. shifting the problem from “block the obvious” to “manage the whole lifecycle of compromise.” That includes understanding how cloud services and widely used platforms can be abused when preventive controls are not complemented by recovery planning.
Recovery planning is also framed as more than an IT backup checklist.. The webinar will discuss why SaaS backups and BCDR planning—business continuity and disaster recovery—are critical layers of cyber resilience. especially when attackers focus on delaying restoration or expanding impact across systems.
The program’s overall throughline is that cyber resilience depends on aligning prevention. detection. and recovery so uptime can be maintained even after attacks occur.. Rather than treating backup as a fallback that can be executed later. the webinar emphasizes that recovery has to be engineered to restore operations quickly.
For organizations and managed service providers trying to reduce downtime during high-impact incidents. the event will serve as a roadmap for preparing not only to defend. but also to recover.. The webinar encourages teams to register now and use the session to evaluate whether their current security posture is matched by equally capable recovery strategies.

So is this like antivirus or something? Cuz I thought security was the whole point.
I don’t get why they’re saying “security alone fails” when everyone tells us to update everything. If it’s AI phishing then just block the email?? seems simple but ok.
It says tomorrow at 2:00 PM ET, but I feel like these webinars always talk in circles. Like they’ll say attackers use “trusted infrastructure” which sounds like they’re blaming IT for not having friends at Google or Microsoft. Also ransomware is always “evolving” so what’s new.
Wait, so even if you detect it early, you still can’t stop it? That’s honestly depressing. I swear every time my cousin says “we got hacked” it’s like they never recover right. And Kaseya… isn’t that the tool companies use for remote stuff? So are they basically telling MSPs to panic and pay ransoms faster or what
