90 Day Fiance’s Jenny Slatten & Sumit Singh Provide Upsetting Video Update About Her ALS Progression, Share It’s Difficult For Her to Speak | Just Jared

Jenny Slatten, 68, and Sumit Singh, 38, are providing another update, sharing that her ALS is progressing.
The 90 Day Fiance alum shared her ALS diagnosis back in May 2026. Her first symptoms appeared in December 2024 when she had a bad choking episode while drinking water. She also had migraines and struggled to swallow pills. Over time, Jenny started to develop speech issues.
Now, they are trying to return to America from India, where they are currently living together.
What is ALS?
The Mayo Clinic notes that ALS is “a nervous system disease that affects nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord. ALS causes loss of muscle control. The disease gets worse over time.”
Is there a cure for ALS?
There is no cure for ALS and while some patients can live for decades, most people usually live for three to five years after their diagnosis.

Jenny Slatten’s ALS is progressing, and she did not speak much in their new video
In a new video, posted Sunday (August 30), Sumit asked Jenny if she wanted to say anything, to which she responded, “No, I can’t talk.”
Sumit noted, “Unfortunately, the ALS is progressing and it’s starting to show more in her talk, like, it’s hard for her to talk now.”
“I feel like it’s more about Jenny losing strength in her backbone and neck and all … her spine, which is making it difficult for Jenny to balance while she’s walking or doing anything,” he shared.
“Earlier, she was doing good. It’s progressing, but we were thinking that we’d come to America … if we can get proper treatment. I always keep my hopes high, and I feel that America might have something better for Jenny and she can get at least a better support system,” Sumit continued.
Sumit Singh revealed their plan, if he can get a visa
“It is getting weaker…Our plan was … to get the visa, and I’ll travel with Jenny and go [to America] and start the treatment,” Sumit said.
“If I don’t get the visa, it means that we will be apart forever,” he speculated. “This is a reason Jenny doesn’t want to go to America without me.”
Jenny said she did not want to leave India without Sumit.
“We love each other, and obviously, I want Jenny to start getting treated and I want Jenny to start feeling better or at least [have] a support system that makes [her] at least feel like, not, struggle every day. If [our relationship and medical plans] are not enough for the embassy in order for me to get a visa, I don’t know whatever situation or condition I will ever be approved,” he said.
