Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson didn’t just talk about what’s coming to downtown Shreveport on Wednesday, June 17—he set a date, put numbers on the calendar, and then walked into the official groundbreaking for his G-Dome.
The rapper, producer and entrepreneur held a fireside chat at the Shreveport Convention Center, joined by members of his G-Unit team, and used the moment to unveil projected completion dates for three cornerstone projects shaping his entertainment push.
First up was G-Stage—formerly known as Stage Works. Project leaders said it’s expected to be completed and actively filming by November.
Then there’s G-Unit Studios, built on the former Millennium Studios property. Office space at the studio complex is slated for completion in early 2027, with full studio production operations expected by the end of that year.
The third milestone is the one residents have been waiting to see take physical shape: the G-Dome, along with an adjacent public park. The projected completion for that component is March.
Jackson made it clear he expects the plans to move from renderings to reality. “I don’t never say I’m going do something and not do it,” he told attendees.
The presentation came with renderings of the planned facilities, fueling excitement as locals pictured what their downtown could become. And Jackson tied that vision to involvement from the community—specifically, opportunities through future casting calls. He said residents will be able to participate in casting. including for non-scripted television projects. and he pointed to workforce development and training programs.
“There’ll be open casting calls, even for some of the non-scripted programs,” he said.
He also emphasized that hiring decisions will ultimately be based on performance and efficiency, while keeping local opportunity as a priority.
For Jackson, the commitment isn’t just promotional. He disclosed the scale of his own investment in Shreveport, revealing he has invested approximately $11 million of his own capital into the city and acquired roughly 20 downtown properties as part of his long-term redevelopment strategy.
“The success in Shreveport is tied to my success as a producer,” he said.
After the chat, Jackson joined local officials, community leaders and project partners for the official groundbreaking ceremony of the G-Dome—marking the start of construction on one of the most ambitious components of his expanding Shreveport entertainment ecosystem.
As his expansion continues across Louisiana, the focus in Shreveport is clear: turning the area into a film, television and entertainment production destination while creating jobs, opportunities and long-term economic growth for the local community.
With the official groundbreaking now underway and multiple projects moving toward their projected completion dates, Jackson’s plan for Shreveport is shifting from an announcement to a schedule—one that residents can now measure in months.
