So they’re putting monitors on poop pipes? Cool cool.
I don’t get it, they said it’s bc of high rainfall and old stuff, but then they keep finding ways to charge people more. $40.6m is a lot though, so why are beaches still gross.
Wait, is this the same Welsh Water that tried to blame the ocean for the sewage? Like the sea is just taking what it gets. If they reduced spills “at specific overflow sites” that sounds like they’re only fixing the worst ones, not the whole system. Also 80,000 overflows… that’s insane. Maybe tourists should just stop going to those beaches, idk.
£40.6m to cut sewage spills and still there are storm overflow pipes?? This is why I don’t trust water anywhere. Next they’ll say the groundwater is the problem again… like it’s just naturally full of sewage? I saw something about surfers getting sick, so if you’re planning a trip, just assume you’re gonna catch something.
