3 people shot at senior assisted living facility in LA

Authorities responded to a shots-fired call at a senior assisted living facility in the 7000 block of Denver Avenue at approximately 10:50 a.m. Gunshots were reported to be heard during the call made to authorities, according to Los Angeles Police Department Officer Alondra Garcia.

Officers found three people suffering from gunshot wounds in the lobby of the facility, authorities said at a press conference earlier Monday. One person is in critical condition, and two others are in stable condition, Garcia said.

Garcia did not have details about the victims, but reports from KTLA and the Los Angeles Times described them as a woman in her 40s, a woman in her 60s, and a man in his 60s — all workers of the facility.

A male suspect was taken into custody without further incident; Authorities also recovered a gun, according to Garcia. Investigators believe the suspect was an employee of the senior assisted living facility.
