CHICAGO (WLS) — Two people were critically injured in a shooting incident at a Southwest Side elementary school on Monday afternoon, the Chicago Fire Department said.
A CFD official confirmed that there were reports of shots fired in the Garfield Ridge neighborhood’s 5100-block of South Lotus Avenue.

Video from the scene shows a large police presence at Mark Twain Elementary School. A stretcher could be seen, and tape blocked off part of the school’s parking lot.
The two injured people were transported to local hospitals.
