CLEVELAND, Ohio (WOIO) – A heat dome has set up to the region’s south, and is poised to bring abnormally warm conditions to the entire area.
The impacts from this will mainly be felt today and tomorrow, with First Alert Weather Days that are in place for this.
Air temperatures will reach the low to mid 90s, with feels like temps reaching into the upper 90s and lower triple digits.
Heat Advisories are in place for this as well, through 8 PM tomorrow.
Make sure you’re limiting time outside, especially for the elderly, pets, and younger kids.
A cold front will finally slide through the area tomorrow night into Thursday morning.
This will be a very slow moving front, causing periodic showers and thunderstorms over the area.
As the front stalls just to the south of downtown Cleveland Thursday afternoon, lingering energy for thunderstorms will allow for the potential of some of these storms to become stronger.
We will have to watch this activity very closely.
The front will finally clear the area by midday Friday. High pressure building in behind this front will allow for northerly winds, and dry conditions over the area.
This will allow for very pleasant conditions – with highs reaching into the 70s and plenty of sunshine – for much of the holiday weekend.
