The best of the small screen was celebrated in style at last night’s Primetime Emmy Awards, with Apple TV performing the best out of all the platforms with an enormous 28 wins. The unstoppable Widow’s Bay was the pick of the bunch, winning 14 trophies total (in every category it was nominated for), including outstanding comedy series, lead comedy actor (Matthew Rhys), supporting comedy actor (Stephen Root), and supporting comedy actress (Kate O’Flynn).
Other highlights for Apple TV on the night included three trophies for the Elle Fanning-led adaptation Margo’s Got Money Troubles, another three for the brilliant Palm Royale, and singular wins for Slow Horses and Mr. Scorsese. But the second-biggest winner at this year’s Primetime Emmys for Apple TV was Pluribus, which won six trophies in total, highlighted by a victory for creator Vince Gilligan in the Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series category and, most notably, a win for Rhea Seehorn in Outstanding Actress in a Drama Series.
Seehorn’s win was certainly well-deserved and makes up for her consistent Emmy snubs for Better Call Saul. Pluribus was an enormous hit for Apple TV in late 2025, coming somewhat out of nowhere to take the crown as many people’s favorite show of the year. Clearly, Apple TV knew what sort of gem they had on their hands before the Season 1 premiere, ordering two seasons from the start. News on Season 2 has trickled through slowly ever since, with Collider receiving a major update back in August, as Gilligan confirmed that all the episodes had been plotted out.

‘Pluribus’ Season 2 Just Got One Step Closer
Seehorn’s win at the Primetime Emmys sparked more conversation about Pluribus Season 2 and, although the actress herself told the press that she hadn’t yet seen the scripts, Gilligan gave those in attendance a pleasant surprise when he confirmed that “the first and second [episodes] are written.” “It took us a while, we figured it out, but Season 2 is not technically all written. We’ve broken it out, which is the hard part,” he added. Sure, Pluribus Season 2 is still likely some time away, but all good things come to those who wait, and with Gilligan at the helm, it’s certain to be another dose of a very good thing.
