WNBA superstar flattens woman in shocking accident while running out onto court
WNBA star A’ja Wilson has gone viral on social media after accidentally trampling an arena staffer just moments before stepping onto the court on Thursday night.
The video was captured backstage at PHX Arena as Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces ran out from the tunnel ahead of their game against the Phoenix Mercury.
In the clip, the staff member was seen strolling in front of a giant curtain at the exact moment when the Aces stars were making their way out the locker room.
Wilson led the charge for Las Vegas and, in doing so, immediately collided with the staffer as they broke through the curtain – sending the woman crashing to the floor.
There was immediate concern from the Aces stars with an audible groan heard by the team as they watched the staff get slammed by the four-time WNBA MVP.
Wilson’s teammate Chelsea Gray was seen in the background of the video, visibly stunned – and concerned for the staffer – following the collision.

Thankfully, the staff member was able to get back to her feet almost immediately after being flattened, allowing the Aces to continue onto the court.
The incident swiftly went viral on social media, with one user on X writing: ‘No, why is that lady there?! No one warned her the team are running out.’
‘Why was she walking past in that moment anyways???’, another fan wrote online.
Another said: ‘Bruh… why was she just casually walking in front of it.’
Meanwhile, one user was left concerned over a potential injury to the reigning WNBA MVP. ‘Imagine injuring the greatest player of all time just before the playoffs sheesh.’
Thankfully for Las Vegas, the pre-game disruption didn’t derail their performance on the night as they cruised to a 100-82 win over Phoenix.
Wilson shrugged off the collision to score 34 points in 35 minutes – going 16-28 in her attempts on the night – along with 10 rebounds and four assists.
