Who is Dr. Rachel Danis? Patrick Clancy’s wife speaks out in ‘60 Minutes’ interview. – The Boston Globe

The wife of Patrick Clancy is slated to make her first public appearance Sunday when they participate in a full interview on CBS’ 60 Minutes, discussing their marriage, Patrick’s life after the death of his three children in January 2023, and the spotlight the trial of his former wife has put on them.

Not much is known about Dr. Rachel Danis; their marriage was disclosed just before Lindsay Clancy’s trial began this July. But in pre-released clips of the 60 Minutes interview, she defended Patrick against conspiracy theories that have taken over online, and described the love he had for his family.

“I don’t understand how the story’s been so twisted, but I would hope people know that Pat is, as I said before, the most selfless father and supportive partner,” Danis said in a clip aired on Friday morning’s CBS Morning News segment. “ I was just a girl that met a guy running in Central Park on a really cold Saturday, and I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that.”

The rest of the interview is set to be released Sunday night on 60 Minutes.

Patrick moved to New York City shortly after the murder of his three children, Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months. That’s where he met Danis, a 37-year-old New York native. The pair married in April 2026.

Both of them were subject to targeted criticism online and unfounded conspiracies related to the case.

Lindsay Clancy admitted to the killings of their three children, but pleaded not guilty by reason of insanity. A jury was deadlocked and prosecutors are deciding how to retry the case.

Danis is a fertility doctor. The Reproductive Medicine Associates of New York lists her as a reproductive endocrinologist and infertility specialist and as an assistant clinical professor at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai.

“Her life, obviously, was very private but now turning very public,” said Shanelle Kaul, the CBS correspondent who conducted the interview, in a Friday morning segment. “I’m sure you’ve seen some of the paparazzi photos capturing them here in New York City and elsewhere.”

Photographers previously captured images of Patrick and Danis on a rooftop in Manhattan, which was circulated online and subject to vast criticism.
