A salmonella-related recall has expanded to include two frozen pizzas sold under Walmart’s in-house Great Value brand, prompting shoppers to double-check what they have in their freezers.
Misryoum reports that the U.S.. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service broadened the alert to cover six products tied to meat and poultry items made with an ingredient that was previously recalled: a dry milk powder.. For Walmart customers. the impacted pizzas are Great Value Thin Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch and Great Value Stuffed Crust Chicken Bacon Ranch.

The recall update follows an earlier public notice that was first issued at the end of April and later revised.. Misryoum adds that the issue is connected to “downstream products. ” meaning items made using the ingredient from the earlier milk powder recall.. Authorities also indicated that additional related products may be identified as the ingredient investigation continues.
Walmart said it has placed sales restrictions on the affected items and removed them from impacted stores. while working with the supplier to investigate the matter.. Misryoum notes that Aldi’s earlier involvement in the broader alert remains part of the overall recall picture. with certain Mama Cozzi’s pizzas previously included.
