Victorious White Sox escape Peacock, advance to TBS, truTV

HOUSTON — White Sox fans, your TV nightmare is over. For as long as the Sox are alive in the postseason, their games will no longer be relegated to a streaming service or an under-distributed cable channel.

Having vanquished the Astros, the Sox now face the rival Guardians in the American League Division Series, which will air entirely on cable channels TBS and truTV, plus streaming service HBO Max.

But never mind the streamer. TBS and truTV are available on practically every cable and satellite provider. Do you know where they aren’t available? Oddly enough, Fubo, one of three platforms that carries NBC Sports Network, which aired the Sox-Astros series, though most people likely watched it on Peacock.

That isn’t Sox fans’ problem anymore. Game 1 of the best-of-five series is scheduled for noon Saturday in Cleveland. Game 2 is set for 4 p.m. Monday. The rest of the series schedule will be revealed later.

As for the rest of the wild-card round, with the Cubs and Red Sox joining the Astros in elimination land, only the Phillies-Braves series reached Game 3. That will air at 7 p.m. Thursday on NBC and, of course, Peacock.
