Tom Brady pulled no punches in his criticism of struggling Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert while live in the booth for Fox on Sunday.
Broadcasting to millions of fans around America, the iconic signal-caller is well-placed to give his thoughts on the good, bad and ugly of the modern-day QB.
For Herbert on Sunday, it was most certainly the latter… and Brady was not afraid to share that with the viewers.
After he had just thrown another brutal interception that put the Chargers on the way to an 0-3 start to the season, Brady said of the QB: ‘Herbert trying to throw down the middle of the field… but there’s a safety in the middle of the field.’
He then kept the punches coming, adding: ‘Poor awareness… bad decision.’
But then for the KO, as he slammed Herbert with a five-word finale that left viewers open-mouthed as they watched on at home. ‘Throws him a meatball sub.’

Another added: ‘That’s so funny, cause Brady wouldn’t come within 2 miles of a meatball sub. Figuratively or literally!’
A third said: ‘That’s the Brady I know and love!’, with a fourth even claiming: ‘He’s elite… the GOAT on and off the field.’
Brady is becoming a fan favorite in the Fox booth after a difficult start to his $375 million contract.
In Week 2, he earned himself a ton of new fans after an expletive-laden performance, with fans hailing how naturally he reacted to a series of plays.
When watching Jayden Daniels’ brutal injury, he exclaimed ‘oh s***!’ before apologizing for his unexpected outburst and adding: ‘Excuse me.’

Just a few moments later he was raving at Dak Prescott’s ‘p*** missile’ up the sideline, this time not apologizing on air for his mishap.
He did say sorry a few days later, though. Speaking on Thursday, Brady said: ‘I’m actually kind of embarrassed. There’s a lot of grandmas at home that probably aren’t very happy with my mouth on Fox. I’m going to fix that. Sorry, I apologize.’
He continued: ‘That swear jar is getting way too full in my house. My kids are getting way too happy with me filling up that jar.’
