Team news: Guimaraes and Timber start at Brighton

Bruno Guimaraes and Jurrien Timber both come into the side make their first Premier League starts of the season for our trip to Brighton.

They are the only two changes from the team that started our last league game, the 2-0 win away to Sunderland last weekend. Ben White started that match, but misses out entirely today with injury, with Myles Lewis-Skelly also moving to the bench to make way for Guimaraes.

It’s Timber first start since we beat Everton back in March, while Guimaraes earns his first Premier League start for us following his stunning goal at the Stadium of Light.

Declan Rice was rested in the Carabao Cup in midweek, but starts today, with Martin Odegaard also in midfield. Bukayo Saka and Christos Tzolis line up either side of Kai Havertz for the fifth consecutive time in the league this season.

Max Dowman – double goalscorer against Ipswich Town on Tuesday – is among the substitutes, and Piero Hincapie is also fit enough for selection on the bench.

Brighton beat Manchester United 3-2 in the Carabao Cup on Wednesday, and they restore the likes of Maxim De Cuyper and Ferdi Kadioglu to the starting line up.

Pascal Gross, who’s scored in three of his last four appearances, also starts.
