Shania Twain didn’t just step onto the carpet at the 2026 Academy of Country Music Awards—she arrived as the night’s main event.
The 60-year-old entertainer was on hand ahead of her hosting duties on Sunday, May 17, at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. Twain, a five-time ACM Awards winner, has already collected her first ACM wins in 1996—Top New Female Vocalist and Album of the Year—for her second album, The Woman In Me.
She’s added more recognition over the years. including the Double-Diamond Award for The Woman In Me and Come On Over in 1999.. Twain was also named Entertainer of the Year in 2000 and later received the Poet’s Award in 2022.. This year, she’s stepping into the host role with what she described as bucket-list energy.
“Well. I can check this bucket list [item] now because hosting the ACMs is a very. very big deal for me. ” Twain told Us Weekly and other outlets.. She added that hosting makes her feel “quite accomplished” with other bucket-list priorities still on the horizon—especially “more time with my horses.” “Bucket list thing right on the beach… The hosting gig is my favorite line right now. ” she continued.
Fashion, too, is part of the promise.. Twain said. “This is the biggest gig of my life. ” adding: “You can expect a lot of excitement. glamor.” She tied the show’s look to what she called “ACMs Vegas style. ” saying. “There’s going to be a lot of beauty because there’s more women on the nominees list this year.” That. she suggested. pushes the fashion higher: “So that always brings up the fashion a little higher sometimes. I think.. So you can see a lot of really fabulous, high fashion.”
On the carpet, she wore a Falguni Shane Peacock gown.
The outfit drew attention right away, with the dress featuring a black panther on it as she posed for photos at the awards.
Earlier in the weekend, Twain also spoke at a press conference for the awards show, where she teased her upcoming stint as Harry Styles‘ tour opener in England. Later this summer, she’s also set to release her new album, Little Miss Twain.
