Seven hurt as cement truck and taxi crash

A cement truck and a taxi collided on an I-595 offramp to I-95 near Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on Friday afternoon, leaving seven people hurt, including a child.

First responders said seven people were hurt, including a child, in the crash near the airport. It happened on an offramp of Interstate 595 onto Interstate 95, where traffic moves through the area.
Video from Sky 10, taken at around 3:15 p.m., showed a cement truck and a taxicab with significant damage. Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue said one of the injured victims is a child.
A Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue spokesperson said five seriously injured patients, including the child, were being taken to the trauma center at Broward Health Medical Center. Officials also said two adults suffered minor injuries.
By about 3:25 p.m. Friday, officials had not released additional information about the victims’ conditions.
