Report: Chiefs interested in reunion with receiver Tyreek Hill

An old flame could be headed back to Kansas City.
The Chiefs are “very interested” in a reunion with wide receiver Tyreek Hill, Michael Silver of The Athletic reported on Sunday.
Hill, 32, was released by the Miami Dolphins in February while rehabbing a serious knee injury. He is believed to be targeting a November return to action, per Silver.
Kansas City beat the Las Vegas Raiders 30-27 to remain undefeated through four weeks on Sunday, but its latest win came at a cost with receivers Tyquan Thornton (broken ankle) and Rashee Rice (hamstring strain) both being lost to injuries.
The timing for a Hill signing, then, would appear to make sense.
Hill last played for the Chiefs in 2021, the final season of an explosive six-year run with the franchise. The 2016 fifth-round pick had 479 receptions for 6,630 receiving yards and 56 receiving touchdowns with the Chiefs, pairing with star quarterback Patrick Mahomes to form one of the top QB-receiver combos of all-time and helping the team win the 2020 Super Bowl.
“I have no idea (if that would happen), but it’d be pretty cool,” Mahomes told Silver.
Hill was dealt to the Dolphins after the 2021 season, and the Chiefs won the ensuing two Super Bowls titles.
Tight end Travis Kelce also told Silver he’d welcome Hill back to the team.
“That’s out of my hands, but I know I’d love to have ‘The Cheetah’ back in this building,” Kelce said. “He’s a brother. He’s one of those people who, when he sets his mind to something, he usually delivers. You saw that with Miami, when all the haters were saying he couldn’t play and he went and had his best year. I’d be excited by what he could do (here).”
