Reba McEntire and Rex Linn delay wedding plans

Reba McEntire says she and fiancé Rex Linn are keeping wedding plans “low-key,” with no date yet—because work keeps coming first—and the ceremony will include their animals.

Reba McEntire is in no rush to swap fiancéhood for marriage—at least not yet. Sitting in her hometown of Atoka, Oklahoma, inside her own restaurant, Reba’s Place, the country star told Extra that her wedding plans are intentionally “low-key,” and that time may be part of the deal.

Reba and Rex Linn have been engaged since Christmas Eve 2024. but she admitted the timing has been pushed back each time Rex gets a job.. “They’re kind of being pushed every time Rex gets a job because he always says work comes first. ” she said.. Then she added with a laugh. “Heck. we might be engaged 30 years before we get married. but we’re okay with that. too.”

When asked whether a big celebration is on the way, McEntire said, “Kind of in between.” She described it as a gathering that will keep things simple: “It’ll be low-key, lots of friends and family.”

The details get even more personal when the conversation turns to who will be part of the day.. Reba said the animals aren’t just a side note—they’re part of the ceremony.. “The ceremony will include their dogs. ” she shared. explaining. “I have two granddogs. Watson and Belle. so they may be the ring bearers or something like that. but we have to have our animals there.”

She went on to list the full cast she wants present: “We’ve got longhorns and donkeys, horses and everything there at the place, cats, and we just, we have a lot of fun with them.” For McEntire, that joy seems to be the point. “I am totally happy, I really am. Loving life, enjoy what I do.”

Reba’s Place is also a reminder of a family legacy she carries into everyday life.. She said the restaurant is proud milestone territory—“This is our third year”—and she credited it with helping her appreciate how much she didn’t see coming.. “I didn’t know what we were getting into and so grateful that we’re here.”

One space inside the restaurant holds special meaning.. McEntire explained that after her mother passed in 2020. the family looked at her books and wondered what would happen to them.. “Here at Reba’s Place, we have a whole section dedicated to my mama’s books.. When she passed in 2020. all of us kids looked at each other and said. ‘What are we gonna do with Mama’s books?’ Because he had books in every room. and so we brought them down here to Reba’s Place.. We call it Mama’s Library.”

And even with plans that may stay flexible for a while, the star’s energy still points outward.. When Extra asked if there’s a chance she could return to “The Voice. ” McEntire responded. “Oh wow. that’d be fun.. You never know.. Wishes do come true.” She was also teased about a dream panel that would include Kelly Clarkson and Blake Shelton—something she met with optimism rather than pressure.
