Rand Paul’s Son Anti-Semitic Rant GOP Congressman

Rand Paul’s son, William Paul, reportedly confronted Rep. Mike Lawler at a Washington bar with anti-Semitic insults before leaving after a drunken exchange.
A drunken bar confrontation in Washington, D.C., has put Sen. Rand Paul’s family back in the spotlight, with reports describing anti-Semitic insults directed at a sitting GOP congressman.
The incident reportedly unfolded Tuesday night when William Paul, the son of Sen. Rand Paul (R-Ky.), interrupted a conversation between Rep. Mike Lawler (R-N.Y.) and a reporter at a restaurant bar. The confrontation escalated quickly, according to the account provided by the reporter involved.
In the reported exchange, William Paul allegedly told Lawler that if Rep. George Santos loses, it would be because of “your people.” When Lawler asked who “your people” referred to, William Paul reportedly responded with a slur aimed at Jewish people, telling Lawler, “Yeah, you Jews.”
The reported back-and-forth continued as Lawler challenged the accusation, saying he was not Jewish. William Paul, according to the account, then appeared to pivot while continuing to press his claims, expressing that he was “sorry for calling you a Jew.”
What followed, as described by the reporter, included additional assertions about Jewish people and political influence.. William Paul allegedly accused Lawler and his “Jewish supporters” of serving Israel and urged Lawler to “watch more Tucker Carlson. ” adding to the sense that the remarks were driven less by a specific grievance and more by broader political and ideological talking points.
As the exchange intensified, Lawler ultimately told William Paul to leave him alone. In response, William Paul allegedly raised his middle finger before leaving the bar.
Lawler later questioned whether he had been given the finger, and William Paul reportedly acknowledged it, saying he was very drunk and that he planned to go. The reported account says he then paid his tab and began to walk away.
On the way out, William Paul reportedly knocked over a barstool and tripped over it, underscoring how quickly the confrontation dissolved into chaotic, intoxication-fueled behavior.
Neither Sen. Rand Paul nor William Paul responded to requests for comment tied to the incident.
The reported episode carries potential political consequences for the Republican orbit. not least because Lawler is a member of the same party as Sen.. Paul.. It also raises questions about how the party handles reputational fallout that emerges from personal conduct tied to elected officials and their families. particularly when the allegations involve anti-Semitic language and claims tied to Israel.
