Raheem Sterling pleads GUILTY to dangerous driving and possessing ‘hippy crack’ after crashing his £270,000 Lamborghini as former Premier League star, 31, learns his fate in court
Former England footballer Raheem Sterling has pleaded guilty to charges of dangerous driving and possession of laughing gas after he crashed his Lamborghini on the motorway.
The 31-year-old, who has played for Chelsea and Manchester City, also admitted that he failed to provide a specimen when appearing at Basingstoke magistrates’ court this afternoon.
Police were called to the M3 in Hampshire on May 28 following reports of a £270,000 Lamborghini Urus swerving around the road just before 9am.
Footage obtained by the Daily Mail appeared to show the black 4×4 veering across the three lanes as other vehicles dodged out of the way.
The driver appeared to be inhaling from a balloon – which is how people ingest laughing gas, also known as ‘hippy crack’.
Minutes later, Sterling allegedly crashed the vehicle into the motorway barriers and was cuffed by Hampshire Police.
