President Samia Honors Workers as JOWUTA Celebrates Journalists

Among those recognized at the national level were Idda Mushi of ITV and Radio One, alongside veteran journalist Lucy Ngowi, who currently writes for a labor-focused publication.

This celebration highlights the critical intersection between national productivity and the vital role of the media in documenting labor progress and professional excellence across the country.

Other notable journalists honored by JOWUTA for their commitment to their craft included Alfred Zakaria from The Respondents, Tamali Vullu of Mwananchi, Ashura Ibrahim Kazinja representing Mtanzania Digital, and Rashid Mtagaluka from Pambazuko.. These awards underscore a growing trend of professional bodies actively participating in national labor forums.

In her keynote address, President Samia urged the workforce to maintain their momentum in building the nation’s economy.. Addressing the crowd, the President warned that internal differences should never be allowed to compromise the peace and unity established by the nation’s founders.. TUCTA President Tumaini Nyamuhokya expressed appreciation for the government’s recent efforts, specifically noting the salary increases and the resolution of long-standing payment disputes, such as those involving TAZARA employees.. He affirmed that the labor federation continues to support the current administration, noting that such collaboration has significantly reduced industrial friction.
