Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt Can’t Co-Parent Smoothly

Days after Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt ended things, a new report says they’re still not getting along and finding their footing around co-parenting their daughter, Scottie Rose.
Pete Davidson and Elsie Hewitt’s breakup is only fresh, but the day-to-day reality between them already sounds complicated. A new source shared with People on Friday that the former couple isn’t “getting along right now,” even as they navigate what comes next as parents.
The couple reportedly split five months after the birth of their daughter, Scottie Rose.. While the breakup doesn’t rule out the possibility that their relationship could change over time. the source paints a different picture in the immediate aftermath: they “can’t even get along with each other at the moment. ” and reconciling doesn’t appear to be in the near future.
The insider added that the cracks were showing even before the breakup. saying they were already “struggling a bit while Elsie was pregnant.” That earlier tension. combined with how quickly everything moved. is part of why the relationship is so difficult to settle into now.. “Things just happened so quickly between them and they didn’t know each other very well,” the source explained.
Becoming parents, the source said, hasn’t smoothed things over.. Instead, it’s reportedly added pressure—especially around how they’ll handle raising Scottie Rose together.. The two are “trying to work through” how they will “be able to co-parent. ” and while they’d eventually like to be “friends. ” that goal doesn’t sound close at the moment.
“She’s not fighting Pete on seeing the baby, but it’s not smooth sailing. Ultimately they’d like to be friends and do things together, but it’s difficult to think about getting to that place right now,” the source said.
Still, the split isn’t described as a complete closing of the door. The source claimed that Pete “does want to be with the woman he has a child with,” calling him “a softie” and noting, “It’s not totally out of the question.” The report also says, “The split was mutual.”
