The Green Bay Packers are exploring another veteran solution for their ailing offensive line, hosting guard Kevin Zeitler for a visit Tuesday.
The 36-year-old has spent 14 seasons in the NFL and has started 213 of the 214 games he has played, but he remains unsigned after his one-year contract with the Tennessee Titans expired following the 2025 season.
While Zeitler was in Green Bay for an official visit, he did not take part in an on-field workout with Packers coaches or personnel staff.
Green Bay has not announced a signing, and a potential deal could reportedly require $6 million to $8 million per season. Zeitler played under a one-year, $9 million contract with Tennessee last season after previously signing a one-year, $6 million agreement with the Detroit Lions.
The Packers have plenty of reason to investigate another option at guard. Green Bay currently ranks last in the NFL in pass block win rate through three games. Jacob Monk has started at right guard and has surrendered 11 pressures, including one sack and five quarterback hits, according to Pro Football Focus. Jager Burton has also struggled, allowing 10 pressures in the Week 3 game against the Atlanta Falcons.
Zeitler’s numbers from last season suggest he remains a reliable option. Starting all 16 games for the Titans, he allowed only 16 pressures and four penalties across 909 snaps, per PFF. He also played 1,047 offensive snaps for Detroit in 2024 while giving up 18 pressures.
Zeitler has almost exclusively played right guard throughout his career, logging 13,985 career NFL snaps with all but four coming at that position. His 213 career starts at guard rank third all time, behind Hall of Famers Randall McDaniel and Will Shields. He entered the NFL as the No. 27 overall selection by the Cincinnati Bengals in 2012 after earning first-team All-American honors at Wisconsin.
The Packers have already added experience to the position group. Laken Tomlinson was signed from the Dallas Cowboys’ practice squad to the 53-man roster on Saturday, while Mekhi Becton joined the Packers’ practice squad on Monday. Tomlinson has made 162 starts in 11 seasons and has primarily played left guard, while Becton has experience at both guard and tackle.
Injuries have also affected Green Bay’s offensive line. Aaron Banks has played only 22 snaps this season because of knee and toe injuries, while right tackle Zach Bako-Bewele is out for the season.
Zeitler has not participated in training camp and would need time to regain football conditioning. Still, his extensive history as a starting right guard could provide the Packers with valuable experience as they look to address their early-season offensive-line issues.
