Pachuca vs – Pachuca recibe a Pumas este jueves 14 de mayo en la ida de semifinales del Clausura 2026. Conoce horario, TV en EE. UU. y México y probables alineaciones.

The first test of the Clausura 2026 semifinals arrives with real tension: Pachuca and Pumas clash on Thursday, May 14, with the series poised to be decided over two legs after a balanced season and contrasting momentum.

The match takes place in Pachuca, Hidalgo, at the Estadio Hidalgo. Kickoff is set for 21:00 hours (ET) and 19:00 hours in Mexico.

Pachuca enters the semifinal under Esteban Solari with less external attention than some of the league’s headline teams. but with the kind of season that earns credibility.. The Tuzos finished fourth in the overall table. putting them in a strong position as they take on Pumas. who topped the general standings and arrive both in form and with confidence built from results.

The rivalry has been unusually even in recent history. In the last 10 direct meetings, Pachuca holds four wins, Pumas has three, and there have been three draws.

In their most recent five matches, both sides show a mix of outcomes that suggests this tie could stay open.. Pachuca most recently posted a 2-0 win over Toluca on May 10, then saw a 2-0 loss to Pumas on May 3.. Against the university team. Pachuca also lost 2-0 on April 25. with additional setbacks including a 3-1 loss to Tijuana on April 23.. Pumas. for its part. delivered a 3-3 draw against América on May 10. and also recorded a 4-2 win over Juárez on April 21 and a 2-0 victory over San Luis on April 17.

For Solari, the tone of the series is clear.. Speaking ahead of the first leg. the coach said Pachuca will not change the style that brought them to this stage.. He described the semifinal as “very balanced” and said it will be “very intense” and “very disputed. ” pointing to the dynamic identity of both teams.. Solari also emphasized that the responsibility of playing at home will matter. and that Pachuca. backed by its fans. will press for chances and play a proactive. pressure-oriented brand.

Those comments align with the approach expected from a team that has built its path with intensity rather than caution. Solari also said that regardless of the opponent or the stage, Pachuca will go looking for the kind of match they have shown throughout the tournament.

Pumas, coached by Efraín Juárez, carries its own internal logic into the semifinal.. In an interview with TUDN. Juárez said the most difficult game for his club in the liguilla was the quarterfinal against América. describing it as a match that required goals to advance.. After getting through that test. Juárez said the team needs to be “sensato. ” acknowledging that the scenarios change in the semifinal.

That contrast matters.. Pachuca’s first-leg objective is to cause damage at home. and the expectation is that Pumas will be more controlled than in the quarterfinal. where the demands forced a different type of risk.. The forecast points to a tight. physical duel at the Estadio Hidalgo. with the balance potentially lasting until the return leg at Ciudad Universitaria over the weekend.

As for how the lineups could look, Pachuca’s probable setup for the match is a 4-3-3 featuring Carlos Moreno; Carlos Sánchez, Eduardo Bauermann, Sergio Barreto, Brian García; Christian Rivera, Víctor Guzmán, Elías Montiel; Robert Kenedy, Oussama Idrissi, Enner Valencia.

Pumas is expected to line up in a 5-3-2, with Keylor Navas; Rodrigo López, Nathan Silva, Rubén Duarte, Pablo Bennevendo, Álvaro Angulo; Pedro Vite, Adalberto Carrasquilla, Jordan Carrillo; Robert Morales, Juninho.

The outlook, as presented for this semifinal opener, is a close contest with Pachuca pushing early at home and Pumas managing the gaps more carefully than before. The predicted result: Pachuca 1-1 Pumas.

For fans looking to watch, the broadcast plan lists TUDN and Vix Premium in the United States, and FOX and FOX One in Mexico.

Where this tie is headed now depends on what happens in the spaces both teams choose to offer. One leg in, the message from both benches is the same: this will not be a passive semifinal.

  1. wait so is this on regular TV or do I need like a special app or something because last time I tried to watch one of these games it just kept buffering and I never figured out what channel it was actually on

  2. I thought Pachuca already got eliminated like two weeks ago?? my buddy told me they lost and were done for the season, so how are they in the semis right now, something isnt adding up here and nobody is explaining it right in this article either they just keep listing scores without telling you what actually happened to the standings

  3. Pumas been playing sloppy all season and people still acting like they gonna walk into the final, they gave up three goals to America in one game, THREE, and yeah they scored three too but that defense is gonna get exposed against a real organized team like Pachuca who actually know how to hold a lead when it matters, the 2-0 wins they had prove that, you cant just outscore everyone forever in a two leg series it dont work like that, Pachuca at home is a completely different thing and I feel like everyone just sleeping on Solari because hes not a big name coach but the man knows what hes doing, people forget that
