One Person Injured in Overnight Shooting Near Central Square

Cambridge shooting – Authorities are investigating an overnight shooting near Columbia Terrace in Cambridge that left one person hospitalized in stable condition.

The quiet near Columbia Terrace was broken just before midnight Wednesday when a person was struck by gunfire, marking the second such incident in Cambridge in as many days. Emergency responders arrived at the scene shortly after the report, transporting the victim to a local hospital.

By Thursday morning, the Cambridge Police Department confirmed the individual remains in stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries. While investigators continue to process the scene, the department has not identified a suspect or made any arrests in connection with the violence.

Columbia Terrace, a small residential stretch tucked off Columbia Street near the busy Central Square district, remains the focal point of the investigation. Despite the proximity to a high-traffic area, officials stated there is no believed broader danger to the community at this time.

This incident follows a separate shooting in North Cambridge on Tuesday that also left one person injured. The two events, occurring in quick succession within the city, have drawn attention to local safety as detectives work to piece together the details of Wednesday’s late-night attack.

Authorities are urging anyone with information to contact detectives at 617-349-3300. Those who wish to remain anonymous may submit tips via text or email through the department’s online instructions.
