Saddle bronc rider Nick Patterson released after fall

Saddle bronc rider Nick Patterson has been released from hospital after an incident during Saturday night (May 16) competition at the Cloverdale Rodeo. According to rodeo media contact Josh Miller, Patterson and the horse, Spring Season became tangled during a ride and went down together during the saddle bronc Pool B Go Round 1 competition held inside Jamie Rogers Arena. “The Canadian Pro Rodeo Sports Medicine Team responded immediately to provide medical support to Patterson, while the team from Duane Kesler Championship Rodeo attended to

the horse to ensure its safety and well-being,” Miller said in an email to Peace Arch News. Miller said Patterson was transported by ambulance for further evaluations “out of an abundance of caution and in accordance with event medical protocols.” Miller also shared an update stating that Patterson has since been released from hospital and returned to the rodeo groups to watch Sunday afternoon’s competition as a spectator. Organizers also said Spring Season is recovering and has returned to her crew. The Cloverdale Rodeo comes
