NH man charged after his 3-year-old shot himself

A 35-year-old man in New Hampshire was arrested after his 3-year-old son shot himself with his father’s gun, police said.
Kenneth Larry was charged with endangering the welfare of a child and negligent storage of a firearm after he turned himself in, the Hooksett Police Department said in a release.
Around 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 26, officers responded to a shooting inside a car parked in a driveway, police said. The victim was a 3-year-old child with a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The child was transported to Elliot Hospital and later med-flighted to Boston. His injuries were non-life-threatening and he continues to recover, police said.
After completing an investigation, the HPD issued an arrest warrant for Larry.
After seeing a bail commissioner, Larry was released on personal recognizance bail and will return to the 6th Circuit Court in Hooksett on Nov. 5.
