NEW: Iran Drone and Missile Attack Hit U.S. Vessel In Strait of Hormuz, Fox News Reveals

Fox News’s Chief Foreign Correspondent Trey Yingst reported on Wednesday morning that the network has learned that a U.S. vessel was “hit” earlier in the week by an Iranian drone and missile attack in the Strait of Hormuz.
President Donald Trump has declared the Strait is under U.S. control and has been working overtime to get oil flowing through the key energy transit hub.
“A U.S.-contracted vessel was hit during an Iranian attack earlier this week, two sources told Fox News,” reported Yingst on social media, adding:
The incident occurred “around the Strait of Hormuz,” and involved four Iranian drones, and at least one missile.
One of the projectiles struck the vessel and caused minor injuries, including smoke inhalation. The injured are being treated in a Gulf country. Some “U.S. personnel” were onboard.
News of the attack comes amid soaring energy prices in the U.S. and concern over escalating attacks in Saudi Arabia by Yemen’s Houthi rebels.
The Houthis continued to attack key Saudi energy infrastructure on Wednesday, hitting Aramco oil facilities operated by Aramco near the Red Sea port city of Yanbu.
The Iran-backed militia group is threatening to shut down traffic through the Red Sea, which would further choke global oil supply and add to a growing global energy shock.
“Saudi Arabia scrambled this week to reroute millions of barrels of oil after being forced to close a critical pipeline damaged in an attack,” added The New York Times on the impacts of Houthi attacks.
“The shutdown of the East-West pipeline risks keeping 4 percent of the world’s oil supply from reaching international markets and driving energy prices even higher.”
