The National Emergency Management Agency has alerted the public to an unauthorized breach of its official website by suspected hackers, warning Nigerians to disregard suspicious information and fraudulent messages circulating through the compromised platform.. In a statement issued on Friday, the agency said it had already commenced technical measures to contain the breach, secure the website, and restore normal operations.. NEMA stated that, “The National Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) has been alerted to an unauthorized
breach of its official website by suspected hackers.” The agency added that it was “currently taking necessary technical measures to rectify the breach, secure the platform, and restore normal operations.” NEMA also cautioned members of the public against relying on any questionable information or financial requests that may emerge from the hacked platform or related communication channels.. According to the agency, “the general public is strongly advised to disregard any suspicious content, misleading information, unauthorized
announcements, or fraudulent solicitations for money that may appear on the compromised website or be circulated through related channels.” The emergency management agency expressed regret over the incident and assured Nigerians that efforts were ongoing to resolve the matter as quickly as possible.. “The Agency regrets any inconvenience this situation may cause and assures the public that efforts are ongoing to resolve the issue promptly and strengthen the security of its digital platforms,” the statement
