The next round of Marvel Rivals is set to land with enough new content to reshape how players queue, watch, and compete—starting May 15, 2026.
Season 8 goes live at 09:00:00 (UTC), with maintenance expected to last about two hours. The update leans hard into time-travel themed storytelling across the “Timestream Entanglement,” while introducing a new playable hero and a packed schedule of events, rewards, and esports features.
At the center of the roster change is a new hero: Devil Dinosaur.. The stomping companion is joining Marvel Rivals as part of an “All-New Content” push that also adds new narrative chapters. including a serial titled “Sins of Alchemax” and a Devil Dinosaur lore story called “The Devil in the Details.”
For players who track cosmetics and bundles, the update includes several new in-store items.. The catalog brings an “Infinity Hulk Bundle. ” a “Monster King Bundle” for Deadpool. and multiple themed packages tied to Devil Dinosaur. including “Chrono-Armor. ” “Tropical Beast. ” and an “Emoji Bundle.” Other additions include a set of new accessories for a broader roster: Black Widow. The Thing. Angela. Namor. Hela. and The Punisher.
The Season 8 Battle Pass, “Project: Heroic Age,” adds 10 new sets of heroic costumes. Highlighted examples include Rogue in “Starlit Rebel,” Jeff the Land Shark in “Devil Landshark,” and Gambit in “Barrier Buster.”

On the esports side, the company says the feed has been routed into the game through a fully integrated “Esports” hub. It’s designed to support live streams, battle notifications, real-time VOD replays, advanced combat analytics, and dossiers on teams and pros.
Season 8 also brings several changes said to be driven by operation and community feedback from Season 7.. The updates include “Tactical Reticle Replication. ” allowing players to copy pro players’ custom crosshairs by navigating to player profiles and selecting per-hero configurations.. There is also “Clairvoyant Match Previews” on the Livestreams page, described as giving visibility into upcoming clashes.. Finally. “Timeline Reconstructions (Predictions)” lets players revisit the Prediction Page for “Match Ongoing” Group Stage matches and edit a team’s ranking prediction. with up to two temporal revision charges available across all regions by completing specific Group Stage event tasks.
Beyond Stage 1. the “Marvel Rivals Championship” returns with Open Qualifiers that promise Units for factions as well as exclusive loot. with details pointed to an in-game rewards preview.. The next step for top performers is structured with “golden tickets” for competitive progression.. The top 4 factions from each designated region in the Season 8 MRC will receive tickets. alongside the factions featuring the highest combined “Champion Points 26” from Seasons 7 and 8.. Those teams are then invited to the Ignite Series 2026 Mid-Season Qualifiers. where they will face Stage 1 Pro League teams fighting to secure a slot in Stage 2 Pro League.
The update also reshapes the College Perk costume lineup. replacing it with a new set: Loki in “Presidential Attire. ” Magneto in “Temporal Tyrant. ” Hulk in “Maestro. ” Peni Parker in “Wasteland Mech. ” Spider-Man in “Man-Spider. ” Daredevil in “Devil 2099. ” Magik in “Phoenix Demon. ” Rocket Raccoon in “Sunshine Raccoon. ” Phoenix in “Chaos Phoenix. ” and Hawkeye in “Ronin.”
Not all the changes are about content.. The patch includes fixes and optimization across multiple modes and characters.. In Blood Hunt. several issues are addressed: a problem where Jeff the Land Shark’s elimination with bubbles sometimes failed to grant charge restoration. “dimensional barriers” tearing during the event causing heroes to clip out of bounds or become wedged in map geometry. and an issue involving Thor where stacking multiple active Ultimate Storm Enhancements affected how his Final Storm interacts with awakening duration.. The Odinforce is described as recalibrated so that Final Storm now correctly consumes the awakening duration as intended.
In “Path to Doomsday: The Avengers. ” the developers say they resolved a temporal glitch in which being targeted by Loki’s mind control could leave heroes suspended mid-air or stuck in anomalous KO states.. They also adjusted Loki’s performance across both Classic Mode and All-Heroes Mode.. In Classic Mode. Loki’s base health is reduced from 3. 500 to 3. 000. the cooldown for “Bend the Knee” increases from 8s to 15s. and the mind-control duration is cut from 4s to 2s.. In All-Heroes Mode, Loki’s base health drops from 4,500 to 3,500, and “Bend the Knee” tuning mirrors those Classic Mode changes.
Smaller hero fixes round out the list.. For Black Widow, an issue is corrected where firing sound effects for Natasha’s “Mrs.. Barnes” costume were missing.. For Captain America. a rare bug is fixed where raising his shield mid-jump could fail to block Spell Field damage. with Steve’s vibranium shield now described as properly protecting him from explosive surprises while airborne.
Season 8 also includes additional content details for Devil Dinosaur, including a new animation called “Take a Seat…or Squat?” plus multiple accessory drops tied to named characters.
