Local obituary: Paul Costine, WEEI caller known as ‘Angry Bill’

Paul E. Costine, of Needham, formerly of Brighton, passed away suddenly at his home on September 17, 2026, at the age of 69.

Born and raised in Brighton, Paul graduated from Catholic Memorial in 1975 and St. Anselm College in 1980, where he served as the goaltender for the hockey team. He worked in the finance office for the City of Boston for many years and later became the sales manager at Boch Honda in Norwood. Known as “Angry Bill” for his spirited calls to WEEI sports radio, Paul is also remembered as a loving caregiver to his late mother and a dedicated mentor to many in sobriety.

Paul is survived by his wife, Marta Poupart; his brother, retired BPD Robert Costine, and his wife, Sharon; his stepdaughter, Jaliz Levenson, and her husband, Steven; and his twin grandchildren, Javen and Leilani. He is also survived by many cousins and his best friends, Vinny and Howie.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday at Eaton Funeral Home from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:00 AM at St. Joseph Church in Needham. Interment will follow at Needham Cemetery.
