Eric Trump arrived with a refusal to limit the future, but Lara Trump left more room for speculation.

On Thursday’s episode of the “Hang Out with Sean Hannity” podcast. Eric Trump and his wife. Lara Trump. appeared together as the conversation turned to what comes next politically.. Eric Trump said he “would never rule anything out. ” prompting Hannity to ask Lara Trump directly about the possibility that she could be “the first woman president.”

Lara Trump’s response did not shut the idea down. She said the “shoes” ahead were large: “They’re big shoes to fill now, Sean.” Then she framed Donald Trump’s presidency as singular. “There has never been a president [like] Donald Trump. There will never be another one like President Donald Trump.”

When Hannity returned to the “first woman president” line. Lara Trump said she “wouldn’t rule it out for anyone in the family.” She added a pointed metaphor about enduring scrutiny. comparing persistent pressure to physical effects: “We’ve seen the absolute nastiest and as bad as it can get. but you know what they did to all of us over that period of time is. if you continue to rub your hands. you’ll get a callus.” She continued: “If you continue to beat somebody enough. you develop a thick skin — and we have all developed such thick skin that I almost don’t think there’s anything they can throw at any of our way — anybody in our whole family — that we wouldn’t be ready for or able to handle at this point.”

She also tied the family’s evolving public life to what she described as a learning curve and transformation.. “Despite knowing absolutely nothing about politics when this whole thing started. we got a quick lesson. ” she said. adding. “and I would say that we’ve been so proud to stand by this one man’s side while he really transforms …. the entire world.”

The timing of the remarks landed as Eric and Lara Trump were both in China this week.. The president met with Chinese President Xi Jinping for a two-day summit to discuss trade and the U.S.’s war with Iran.. During that period. Lara Trump’s visibility has continued to rise. with her described as taking on a more public role in the president’s second term.

Hannity’s question about the presidency met a deliberate blend of deference and ambiguity. with Lara Trump steering the conversation away from a direct declaration.. The sequence of answers is consistent: Eric Trump refused to set limits (“would never rule anything out”). and Lara Trump echoed that stance by refusing to “rule it out” for “anyone in the family. ” then shifted to a broader claim that Trump’s presidency is unmatched.

Lara Trump has also been moving deeper into public-facing politics even as she keeps long-term plans guarded.. She is the former co-chair of the Republican National Committee.. She has hinted at an interest in entering the political sphere while maintaining a visible media presence. serving as the host of “My View with Lara Trump” on Fox News and the “Right View with Lara Trump” podcast.

Outside politics, she is also an aspiring musician, releasing singles on streaming platforms. Her most-streamed track on Spotify is described as her cover of the 1989 smash “I Won’t Back Down,” originally performed by late rock musician Tom Petty.

The couple’s comments on possibly running for president were raised during their appearance, with the discussion beginning around the 1:02:16 mark of the podcast episode.
