Klepper’s Fox jab turns robots segment into lawsuit shadow

Klepper mocks – Jordan Klepper used a Fox News robot segment to mock the network, drawing a line from a Beijing tech clip to the shadow of earlier workplace-liability claims involving Bill O’Reilly and settlement payouts.

Jordan Klepper’s attack on Fox News didn’t build toward a punchline. It arrived abruptly, piggybacking on a tech segment and then pivoting hard into a broader critique that landed just as quickly.

In the clip at the center of the bit, Fox News anchor Bret Baier—while in Beijing for President Donald Trump’s summit with Xi Jinping—reported on technology advances by asking a robot for food at a mini-mart. “Hello, can I get a sausage, please?” Baier requested on camera.

Klepper reacted immediately, leaning into the absurdity of the moment as he mocked Baier’s choice of order.. “A sausage?” he said, in visible disbelief.. “You went to China, home of one of the famed cuisines in the world, and ordered a convenience store sausage?. Bret, you’re making us look weird in front of our future overlords.”

The humor then turned sharper. Klepper added, “Although it could be worse. Usually when someone at Fox News asks someone to grab their sausage, it comes with a $10 million lawsuit.”

That reference echoed another high-profile Fox News departure tied to alleged misconduct.. The network parted ways with host Bill O’Reilly in 2017.. A report had revealed that O’Reilly and Fox News quietly paid female colleagues millions of dollars in settlements for their sexual harassment complaints against him.

The connection in the evening’s jokes rested on a single thread: a robot sausage request in Beijing sits next to a reminder that Fox-related controversy has repeatedly moved through the courts and settlements.. Baier’s on-screen order becomes a setup for a punchline about lawsuits. and that line then points directly back to the O’Reilly case and the reported settlement payouts.

For viewers, the effect was less about robots than about what the segment brought with it—an image of glossy tech coverage paired with the insistence that, in Fox’s orbit, legal trouble is never far behind.
