Josh Allen Leads Buffalo Bills Past Las Vegas Raiders 33-30 in Thrilling Finish

Josh Allen delivered a stellar performance through the air and James Cook provided the crucial late ground work as the Buffalo Bills secured a hard-fought 33-30 victory over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday at Allegiant Stadium in Paradise, Nevada.
Allen completed 23 of 33 pass attempts for 255 yards and two touchdowns, improving Buffalo’s record to 5-1 on the season. Cook added 95 rushing yards, capped by a decisive late touchdown that helped the Bills withstand a determined comeback bid from Las Vegas, which fell to 3-3.
The game featured a flurry of offensive production and tight moments down the stretch. For the Raiders, quarterback Kirk Cousins completed 23 of 41 passes for 313 yards and two touchdowns, both connecting with wide receiver Tre Tucker. Tucker finished the afternoon with five receptions for 97 yards, while tight ends Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer combined for 11 catches and 165 yards.
Las Vegas kept the pressure on until the final seconds. Cousins launched a 44-yard touchdown pass to Tucker, who secured a diving, headfirst grab in the end zone to trim Buffalo’s lead to 33-30 with just 92 seconds remaining. However, the Bills successfully recovered the ensuing onside kick attempt to seal the outcome.
Prior to that late strike, the two teams traded blows in a tense fourth quarter. The same Cousins-to-Tucker connection had tied the game at 23-all with 8:07 remaining when Tucker broke toward the sideline and away from defender Christian Benford for an 11-yard score.
It took Allen and the Buffalo offense only seven plays to cover 66 yards in response. Cook plowed into the end zone from 3 yards out, reclaiming a 30-23 advantage for the Bills with 4:43 left on the clock.
Buffalo then forced a turnover on downs after three consecutive incompletions from Cousins. Allen connected with Keon Coleman for a 15-yard gain to move the chains, and Cook picked up subsequent yardage to force Las Vegas to burn its second timeout with 2:36 remaining. After defensive stops by Treydan Stukes against Cook and Khalil Shakir, kicker Tyler Bass converted a 38-yard field goal—his fourth of the game—to stretch the advantage to 33-23 with 1:56 left.
Earlier in the final period, the Raiders mounted a lengthy 15-play drive that consumed valuable clock but ultimately stalled inside the red zone. Facing first-and-goal at the 2-yard line, Las Vegas lost yardage when Ashton Jeanty was stopped for a 3-yard loss by Greg Gaines. After Cousins missed an open Bowers and forced a third-down pass to Cody White into tight coverage, Matt Gay kicked a 23-yard field goal to narrow the gap to 23-16.
In the third quarter, Allen manufactured one of the game’s more memorable highlights. Escaping pressure and rolling to the left of the line of scrimmage on a third-down play, Allen flipped an unorthodox shovel pass over the middle to Coleman for a 12-yard touchdown, extending Buffalo’s lead to 23-13 with 6:22 left in the period.
Coleman finished the game with four catches for 59 yards and the touchdown, while Dalton Kincaid hauled in seven receptions for 38 yards. Jeanty, who entered the contest hobbled by foot and ankle soreness, managed 10 carries for 22 yards—including his first rushing touchdown of the season in the first quarter—along with four receptions for 36 yards.
Tempers flared late in the first half when Buffalo defensive back C.J. Gardner-Johnson was ejected for unsportsmanlike conduct with 15 seconds remaining before halftime. Replays indicated Gardner-Johnson hovered near the line of scrimmage and appeared to spit toward the feet of Raiders tight end Brock Bowers.
