CeeDee Lamb Injury Update: Cowboys Receiver Expected to Play Against Packers

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is expected to return to his usual role on Sunday night against the Green Bay Packers after logging full participation in practice throughout the week. Lamb has been managing a quad injury that first flared up during a standout Week 4 performance when Dallas defeated the Houston Texans. During that game, the veteran wideout posted career numbers with 17 receptions for 189 yards, including the game-winning touchdown, but the physical toll of the contest limited his availability the following week.
When Dallas hosted the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Thursday Night Football in Week 5, Lamb suited up but played a reduced role. He logged a season-low 34 snaps and was kept off the field during the closing minutes as the Cowboys tried to mount a late comeback. He finished that contest with just nine yards on two receptions. With additional recovery time leading into Week 6, team expectations grew that the extra rest would allow the star receiver to heal and return to his early-season form.
His anticipated return provides a major boost for the Cowboys as they seek to climb to a 3-3 record and exact some measure of revenge against Green Bay. The teams last met in Week 4 of the 2025 season, battling to a 40-40 tie in a game where Dallas played without Lamb, who was sidelined by a high ankle sprain suffered a week prior against the Chicago Bears. In Lamb’s absence during that previous matchup, wide receiver George Pickens stepped up with 134 yards and two touchdowns on eight receptions. Pickens also carried a heavy load against Tampa Bay in Week 5, hauling in nine passes for 130 yards and scoring his first touchdown of the season.
While Pickens has proven capable of filling the WR1 role, the Cowboys offense is positioned at full strength with both playmakers on the field. Dallas will hit the road to face Green Bay at Lambeau Field on Sunday, October 18, 2026. Kickoff for the prime-time matchup is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET, with television and streaming coverage provided by NBC and Peacock. Betting markets via DraftKings Sportsbook list the Cowboys as 1.5-point underdogs, with a moneyline of +100 compared to the Packers at -120, and an over/under set at 53.5 points.
