More injury concerns for Jimmy Lee and Limerick footballers

AN INJURY-ravaged Limerick are sweating on the fitness of a few more players as Jimmy Lee’s side prepare for their Tailteann Cup round 2B clash with Wicklow next weekend.

The Newcastle West man said there were a few “niggles” in the squad after the defeat to Wexford where Rory O’Brien, Killian Ryan and Robbie Childs were among the players replaced over the course of the 70 minutes.

“It’s unfortunate, but that’s where we’re at,” Lee said as he will see how his players get through training during the week before ruling anybody out.

Lee also confirmed that nobody who missed the Chadwick’s Wexford Park clash will be returning for the trip to Echelon Park, Aughrim.

Since then, the Leinster side were competitive in Division 4 in the spring finishing third and gave Dublin a scare in the Leinster Championship.

“To be fair, it’s a seriously challenge,” said Lee.

“We have to dig deep as a collective unit – we are fighting for our lives.”
