Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren Sanchez cozy up to Jerry Jones at Cowboys game as Dallas fans plead with him to buy the team
Amazon founder Jeff Bezos attended an NFL game, which led to fans clamoring for the billionaire to buy the team.
Bezos and his wife, Lauren Sanchez, were guests of Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones at the team’s home opener on Sunday against the Washington Commanders.
Despite Bezos’s ties to DC as the owner of the Washington Post newspaper, the billionaire admitted that he was rooting for Dallas to win.
‘One, I really want the Cowboys to win today,’ Bezos said, via Chris Amaya of the Dallas Morning News.
‘Second is field energy here. It’s such great energy here. There’s something special about this stadium . . . about this team, and of course, something special about Jerry. It’s great to be his guest.’
In turn, Bezos received praise from Jones, who has long been the object of ire by his own fanbase.

‘What he is, is a part of what we all are proud of, and that’s being a part of America,’ Jones said. ‘It’s quite a privilege. Like I said, I pulled out all the stops to try and give us some energy to win this game today.’
Bezos has long been linked to NFL ownership, but didn’t submit bids when the Commanders hit the auction block. He also did not launch a bid to buy the Seattle Seahawks when they went up for sale.
But the mere appearance of Bezos at the game led to tweets begging him to buy the team from Jones: ‘Please Jeff save us from Jerry Jones,’ read one tweet.
‘Bezos should buy the Cowboys from Jones. Then hire a true GM and a real coach,’ another user posted.
One post read, ‘Can Jerry please sell the team to jeff? Signed all cowboys fans!’
‘I hope he presents Jerry Jones with a blank check and says name your price,’ another Cowboys fan wrote.
It’s unclear if Jones has any intentions of selling all or part of the Cowboys, however, the team’s $17 billion valuation would only slightly dent Bezos’s net worth of $378 billion.
Bezos left happy as the Cowboys beat the Commanders to move to 1-1 on the season.
