JD Vance claims dead people “vote for Democrats” in Maine

dead people – In an anti-fraud speech in Bangor, Maine, Vice President JD Vance claimed deceased people “vote for democrats,” linking it to broader fraud allegations as a Trump-led task force targets Medicaid schemes.
Vice President JD Vance used a Bangor, Maine stop to deliver a wide-ranging anti-fraud message that included a striking claim: that dead people “vote for democrats.”
Speaking on Thursday, Vance framed fraud as both a budget issue and a threat to services relied on by ordinary Americans. His remarks came as the Task Force to Eliminate Fraud, which President Donald Trump tasked him with spearheading, held its inaugural meeting on March 27, 2026.
Maine figures prominently in the administration’s focus.. The state is among the Democratic-leaning jurisdictions the task force has singled out for alleged fraud. alongside Illinois. Minnesota. California. New York and others.. Maine has been accused of fraud and mismanagement involving federally funded Medicaid programs.
Vance pointed to a report earlier this year from the Department of Health and Human Services, which said Maine made “at least $45.6 million in improper fee-for-service Medicaid payments” for services provided to children diagnosed with Autism.
“I realized that fraud isn’t just about saving money,” Vance said in his speech. “It’s not just about protecting the taxpayers. It’s about protecting you, the money you send to the government and the services that you rely on.”
He said the administration was “fighting for you,” adding that the goal was to protect tax dollars and put “fraudsters in prison.” Vance argued enforcement would not be difficult because, in his view, “there is a lot of fraud in the federal government,” likening the effort to “fishing in a barrel.”
He then expanded the theme to elections and benefits.. Vance said people had been “fleeced by your own government over the past 15. 20. 30 years. ” and argued officials had not asked “difficult questions.” He singled out voter fraud allegations involving deceased people. asking. “are dead people getting food stamps?. Okay?. Call me old fashioned.. I don’t think the dead people eat, so certainly they don’t need food stamps.”
A person in the audience interjected, “They vote!”—an apparent reference to claims also made by Trump that thousands of deceased voters cast ballots for former President Joe Biden in states Trump lost in 2020.
Election experts, speaking generally to the claim, said that while deceased voters may be involved in fraud occasionally, it would not be at a scale sufficient to change election outcomes.
Vance responded by returning to identity and benefits fraud.. “Unfortunately, they vote for Democrats, they don’t vote for us, my friends,” he said, prompting laughter from the crowd.. He then questioned how recipients of low-income assistance could also appear to be using resources inconsistent with those benefits. saying. “Why is it that we have people who drive Lamborghinis … who are getting low income assistance that’s supposed to go for housing and food for our people?”
He cited hospice-related allegations, saying there are cases in which people “in hospice” claim hospice benefits without terminal illnesses. He also went further, saying the purported fraud is sometimes tied to identity theft.
“And by the way. here’s the crazy thing. it’s very often it’s not a person who’s even using their own identity. ” Vance said.. “They’re stealing somebody else’s identity. claiming hospice services. and then when that hard working American goes to apply for some other benefit. they get tagged by the bank as being a fraudster. even though it wasn’t them.. It was somebody who had stolen their identity.”
Vance said many in the audience indicated they knew someone who had experienced identity theft. He argued the issue persisted because the government “wasn’t going after fraud,” adding, “and ladies and gentlemen, that changed the moment Donald J. Trump became the President of the United States.”
The remarks were delivered in the context of the Trump administration’s fraud initiative, which Vance is leading, with Maine among the states the task force has focused on for alleged misuse of federal programs.

my grandma died in 2019 and i guarentee she still gets mail from the democrats lol
ok but nobody is talking about the 45 million dollars for autism kids that just disappeared like where did that money actually go thats the real story here and everyone is focused on the dead voter thing which honestly happens on both sides i seen it
This is literally why I stopped voting. Both parties just stand up there and say whatever they want and people just clap like seals. Vance flew all the way to Maine just to say dead people vote democrat, like ok man, cool use of taxpayer money right there. And now theres some task force which is just gonna be another thing that costs money and does nothing. I remember they did something like this in like 2018 or whatever and it was a whole big deal and then nothing happened. Nothing ever happens. They just want to be on TV.
wait so vance is saying maine is committing fraud AND dead people are voting there?? so basically maine is just completely corrupt top to bottom, why hasnt the governor been arrested yet if its that bad
