Jalen Brunson Joins ‘Law & Order: SVU’ as Guest Star, Spotted on Set with Close Friend Mariska Hargitay | Just Jared
Jalen Brunson is officially joining the cast of Law & Order: SVU!
The 30-year-old New York Knicks point guard was spotted on set of the long-running NBC series on Thursday (September 17) in New York City.
He, of course, joined his good friend and SVU star/executive producer Mariska Hargitay, as they filmed for an upcoming new episode!
Details on Jalen‘s character are currently unknown, but we do know he’s set to guest star on the episode airing November 5th, according to Variety.
During the shoot, Jalen and Mariska were seen posing for a group photo with crew members.
“Now introducing YOUR 2026 New York Knicks starting lineup!!!” Mariska posted on Instagram, along with her own version of the above photo.
“When the plans finally make it out of the group chat […] Jalen Brunson is officially headed to #SVU!” the official Law & Order Instagram account added.
Jalen‘s guest star appearance on Law & Order: SVU comes just a few months after he commented on wanting to be on the show.
After winning the NBA Championship back in June, the athlete was asked what was next for him, and he replied, “Try to get on SVU.”
SVU star Christopher Meloni reacted to Jalen‘s comment, saying, “He can do whatever the hell he wants. He’s got the force of will.”
While on set that day, Mariska was seen holding one of her new Emmy awards, just days after hosting the 2026 Emmy Awards. The week before, she won two Emmys for her documentary, My Mom Jayne.
Also spotted on the Law & Order set were cast member Kelli Giddish and actor Bill Heck, who appears to also be joining the cast next season, as well as Jalen‘s dad, Rick, his wife, Ali Marks Brunson, and their daughter, Jordyn James Brunson. The latter two are not pictured here.
Season 28 of Law & Order: SVU is set to premiere on Thursday, October 8th at 9 pm ET/PT on NBC.
