Israeli Strikes Kill Four in Gaza as Death Toll Rises

Israeli forces killed at least four Palestinians in a series of attacks across the Gaza Strip, while a fifth person succumbed to injuries from an earlier assault, according to medical sources and local reports. The latest casualties come as humanitarian efforts intensify to secure winter shelters for displaced residents.

In southern Gaza, medical personnel reported that at least two individuals died following a gun attack and an air raid in Khan Younis on Monday. A third person was killed in the central village of al-Musaddar during a drone strike. In northern Gaza City’s Tal al-Hawa neighborhood, a vehicle strike killed another person identified by local news agencies as Hani Hamed Kahil, and left five others injured. Meanwhile, in the Zeitoun district, three people sustained injuries when a minibus belonging to a community reporting kitchen was struck.

The Israeli military stated that its forces targeted Palestinian fighters in three separate strikes, though it did not provide additional details regarding the operations.

Separately, medical sources confirmed that Youssef Abu Younis died on Monday from wounds sustained during an Israeli attack on Sunday that targeted a police post in al-Mawasi. That Sunday incident also resulted in the deaths of at least five Palestinian police officers.

According to data from the Palestinian Ministry of Health, Israeli military operations have killed at least 1,593 Palestinians and wounded 5,748 others since the implementation of a U.S.-brokered ceasefire in October 2025. Cumulative figures since the start of the conflict indicate that at least 74,609 Palestinians have been killed and 175,872 wounded.

These ongoing hostilities coincide with diplomatic and humanitarian initiatives aimed at securing shelter materials before the onset of winter. Israeli Army Radio reported that Nickolay Mladenov, the high representative of the U.S.-established Board of Peace tasked with overseeing a Gaza peace plan, arrived in Israel on Monday. Mladenov is reportedly seeking authorization to import tents and expedite reconstruction efforts.

Humanitarian needs across the enclave remain acute. The United Nations migration agency reported on October 9 that nearly two million individuals require shelter assistance, with approximately half of all existing tents and makeshift dwellings in need of replacement as freezing weather approaches.
