‘He’s Just Lying’: Three-Time Trump Voters Turn On President Over Broken Promises

Several three-time voters for President Donald Trump in Alaska had some harsh words for the president while watching clips of his previous promises.
During Saturday’s edition of MS NOW’s “Connect with Jacob Soboroff,” reporter Alex Tabet had voters react to clips from Trump’s inaugural address and more recent ones in which he dismisses the high price of gas.
One man in Anchorage, while filling up his gas tank, watched a clip of Trump saying he would lower prices.
“That’s why I voted for him because he was saying all that stuff. And then now it’s totally different,” the man said.
Another said he had hoped Trump would live up to the hype of his promises, but suggested the president’s middle name should be “hyperbole.”
“He’s hyperbolic. That’s all he has ever been. His middle name ought to be hyperbole. He can’t deliver on any promises. No politician ever can, even if they have the best of intentions,” the man said.
Another man watched a clip of Trump saying Americans have to “pay a little bit more” in gas prices to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
“He talks a lot, but I haven’t seen anything come to fruition yet, you know. Of course I understand they don’t need nukes, but I mean, I need to live and not be able to spend all my money on gas,” the man said.
The man also scoffed at a clip of Trump saying the price of gas is not very high right now.
Tabet asked him how he feels watching Trump make all those promises.
“Like he’s just lying,” the man said.
Tabet noted that all the voters were in Anchorage, where gas is roughly $5 per gallon, but added that in some areas it’s as high as $9 per gallon.
