Despite being two games below .500, the Rangers are still in the hunt for a playoff spot, sitting just one game out of first place for the AL West behind the Astros. Houston owns the tiebreaker.
The Sox will go with lefthander Patrick Sandoval. The Rangers announced Tuesday afternoon that righty Jacob deGrom would get the start.

He got a no-decision his last time out despite striking out 12 in six scoreless innings against the Mariners. He was perfect through the first five innings of a 4-3 at Seattle. … Rangers third baseman Josh Jung is 4-for-9 with two RBIs since being activated from the injured list (left calf) on Saturday.
