Freddie Highmore to Reunite With David Shore at Crave

Freddie Highmore is set to star in Crave’s new drama series I’m Not Here to Hurt You, a co-production with Sony Pictures Television and Blink49 Studios. The project reunites him with The Good Doctor creator David Shore, who co-created the series with Highmore
Freddie Highmore is back in the middle of a familiar creative orbit. On Sunday, May 17, the 34-year-old actor was announced as the star of the new drama series I’m Not Here to Hurt You.
The project is a co-production involving Sony Pictures Television and Blink49 Studios, with Bell Media’s Crave attached as the streamer. Crave—home to Heated Rivalry—will be where viewers meet this next chapter.
What makes the news hit a little harder is the reunion: Highmore will collaborate again with The Good Doctor creator and showrunner David Shore.. In a joint statement, Freddie and David said, “We weren’t quite done with each other after all.. We’re thrilled to be collaborating again. excited to return to Canada alongside our partners at Bell and Blink49 Studios. and grateful for Sony’s continued support.. And now we have to get to work.”
Highmore’s new role, according to THR, puts him in a darkly ironic premise. He will star as “an upstanding family man who, after killing someone in a bicycle accident, spirals into a life of crime, yet is driven by the noble but futile goal of never hurting anyone ever again.”
The series is based on the Irish Independent podcast of the same name, and the creator connection goes beyond just working together again. Freddie and David also co-created the series together, with Highmore serving as a non-writing executive producer.
Sony Pictures Television isn’t hiding its excitement, either.. Lauren Stein. executive vp and head of creative at Sony Pictures Television. said. “David and Freddie have an extraordinary creative partnership built on trust. collaboration. and a shared passion for powerful storytelling.. They have a unique ability to create richly layered characters who are imperfect. complicated. and deeply relatable. the kind of characters audiences genuinely care about.. We couldn’t be more excited to reunite with them for I’m Not Here to Hurt You and are grateful to our partners at Bell Media. Crave. and Blink49 Studios. ”
Blink49 Studios CEO John Morayniss also weighed in, adding: “David Shore and Freddie Highmore have created a truly compelling and emotionally complex series with enormous international potential.”
The timeline behind the casting news matters for fans, too. The Good Doctor ended two years ago. Since then, Highmore starred in the Prime Video series The Assassin, and he’s also got the upcoming movie Life on Other Planets, which also hails from Sony Pictures.
Across the details. the same creative thread keeps reappearing: Highmore and Shore already co-created I’m Not Here to Hurt You. they’ll reunite as collaborators again for the Crave drama. and the statements repeatedly frame the project as returning to Canada with Bell and Blink49 alongside Sony’s continued support.
