Former Trump Cabinet member Kristi Noem officially files to divorce estranged husband following reports of mutual infidelity
Former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem has officially filed to divorce her estranged husband, Bryon Noem, following months of public scrutiny surrounding allegations involving both spouses.
Filing for divorce
Kristi officially filed to divorce her husband on Monday, September 28, according to South Dakota court records. The filing follows her announcement earlier this year that she planned to divorce Bryon.
“Kristi Noem has filed for the dissolution of her marriage to Bryon Noem,” attorney Michael Sabers told Newsweek on behalf of President Donald Trump’s former Cabinet member. “She has great faith in the South Dakota judicial system and will reserve any further comments for the legal process.”
The divorce comes months after the Daily Mail published allegations about Bryon’s private life, including claims that he exchanged hundreds of messages with women involved in online “bimbofication” communities.
The March 31 report included photographs the outlet said show Bryon wearing leggings and a false chest piece that had been sent through a messaging app. Webcam model Lydia Love was among women who subsequently claimed they had communicated with Bryon, saying he had been her client.
Another alleged affair
The revelations emerged as Kristi faced separate allegations that she had an affair with longtime Trump ally Corey Lewandowski. The friendly colleagues have long denied the rumors about the nature of their relationship.
Following the initial report about Bryon, Kristi’s representatives said she and her family had been caught off guard.
“Ms. Noem is devastated. The family was blindsided by this, and they ask for privacy and prayers at the time,” her representatives told the New York Post.
Trump also addressed the allegations about Bryon.
“They confirmed it? Wow, well, I feel badly for the family if that’s the case, that’s too bad,” he said at the time.
Bryon Noem speaks out
Bryon broke his silence in April, telling The New York Times that he intended to discuss the allegations publicly at a later date.
“I will at some point. Today is not the day. I appreciate your heart,” he said.
Bryon, a South Dakota native, previously worked in banking and financial services before launching a crop insurance agency.
The divorce filing now formally begins the legal process of ending the Noems’ marriage after months of reports and allegations surrounding their relationship.
