Sharvek Naidu says Fiji’s 2026 FICA Congress discussions must translate into measurable outcomes, including a 12-month plan and ongoing implementation.
The outgoing President of the Fiji Institute of Chartered Accountants and Congress Organising Committee Chairman Sharvek Naidu says discussions at the organisation’s 2026 Congress must lead to real action and measurable outcomes.. Speaking to fijivillage News, Naidu says one of the key outcomes from the two-day Congress will be the development of a plan over the next 12 months, including a communique outlining the next steps forward, and that discussions do not end at the
Congress, but continue into practical implementation.. He says the plan will include small, practical measures and policy-related actions to ensure progress is tracked and implemented.. He adds that they will also report this back to their line minister and the Prime Minister’s Office.. Naidu says a dedicated national strategic session was deliberately organised for the first time ever to encourage open, practical and forward-looking discussions on issues affecting Fiji’s development.. He says this session was

both members and non-members contributing to discussions.. This was the largest number of delegates attending the congress.. He says the feedback from participants was strongly positive, particularly on the relevance and openness of discussions.. He says that the key issues raised also included artificial intelligence, sustainability, technology and regional collaboration.
