FBI Attempted to Interview Milwaukee Elections Official

Milwaukee election – Milwaukee County officials say an FBI agent visited the home of the county elections director with a request to interview her, prompting scrutiny and follow-up.
An FBI agent’s decision to visit a private home in Milwaukee County has sparked outrage among local election officials and raised questions about how federal investigators approach election administration.
Milwaukee County Clerk George Christenson said Thursday the FBI attempted to interview the county’s elections director. In a statement, Christenson said an FBI agent went to the elections director’s residence and left a business card rather than contacting the Election Commission’s office directly.
“It is unfortunate that the FBI chose to visit the private residence of Milwaukee County’s Elections Director rather than contact the Election Commission’s office directly. ” Christenson said.. He added that no public servant should be subjected to what he called an intrusion in the course of carrying out election responsibilities with “integrity and professionalism.”
Christenson said Milwaukee County would follow up to determine the nature of the visit. The county clerk also indicated the county would cooperate with “all legitimate” law enforcement activity while insisting it would defend elections in Milwaukee County.
The clerk said the county’s handling of the 2020 presidential election has been repeatedly validated through multiple reviews and legal proceedings.. He pointed to post-election canvassing. a presidential election recount. state and federal court challenges. a forensic audit conducted by the Wisconsin Legislative Audit Bureau. and two additional independent audits.. Christenson argued that continuing to relitigate settled questions does not strengthen public confidence and instead erodes it.
The FBI did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
Milwaukee County is Wisconsin’s most populous county and includes the city of the same name. In the 2020 presidential election, President Joe Biden won nearly 70% of the votes cast there, and the state was ultimately decided by a margin of just over 20,000 votes.
That tight statewide outcome helped frame the political fight that followed the 2020 election. In December 2020, the Trump campaign filed an unsuccessful lawsuit seeking to disqualify more than 200,000 ballots from Milwaukee and Dane Counties.
The federal effort now underway in Milwaukee adds to broader political pressure that has surrounded election administration in the years since 2020.. The investigation in Wisconsin comes as the Trump administration has faced scrutiny over a pressure campaign aimed at swing states and officials tied to local election operations in jurisdictions the former president lost.
Federal officials are also examining election materials from Fulton County. Georgia. and Wayne County. Michigan. according to the same reporting referenced in this case.. Together. the developments suggest election-related investigations continue to remain a major focus of federal attention in states where margins were narrow and the post-election disputes were intense.
For Milwaukee’s election leaders. the immediate concern is the manner of the attempted interview—Christenson’s complaint centers on the choice to reach out at a private residence instead of through the county’s election infrastructure.. The follow-up he described is likely to determine what prompted the visit and whether additional steps will be taken through formal channels.

this is exactly what happened in Arizona too they went after all the election people and nothing ever came of it because there was nothing there but they keep doing it to scare people away from working in elections and then when nobody wants the job they say see the system is broken its like a whole plan if you think about it my cousin actually worked at a polling place and quit after 2020 because of all the threats and stuff so this is real people are leaving these jobs
