Staff Reporter AN 83-YEAR-OLD woman died after being brutally assaulted during a violent attack at Ondiyamande village near Ongwediva in the early hours of Friday morning, while a four-year-old boy also sustained head injuries.. According to the police weekend crime report, the incident occurred at around 02:00 on Friday.. It is alleged that a 30-year-old male suspect arrived at the house while the deceased and the child were asleep.. The suspect allegedly smashed a window
to gain entry into the room before assaulting the victims with an unknown object.. The elderly woman succumbed to her injuries, while the child survived but sustained head injuries during the attack.. Police further revealed that the suspect allegedly contacted the deceased’s son by telephone after the incident to inform him about the attack..
