Eagles vs. Commanders prediction prices on Polymarket US: Exploring markets for NFL Week 1 trading

The Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders kick off their 2026 seasons today at 4:25 p.m. ET in Philadelphia. The Eagles are trading as 68% favorites on Polymarket US, where you can also trade on the point spread, total points and other prediction markets.

The Eagles have been the best team in the league in Week 1 since the turn of the century. They are 18-8 in Week 1 since 2000, including 9-1 over the last 10 seasons and 5-0 with Jalen Hurts as the starting QB.

Will that trend continue in this NFC East rivalry game? Let’s take a look at the Eagles vs. Commanders prediction market prices on Polymarket US for today’s game.

NOTE: The Polymarket US prices below were accurate at the time of writing, but could change.

Eagles vs. Commanders moneyline prices on Polymarket US

Why the Eagles could win

Price: $0.68 at Polymarket US

The Eagles have dominated this division rivalry over the last four seasons, going 8-3 including one playoff win. One of those losses came in Week 18 last season when both teams were playing mostly backups, so in meaningful games the Eagles have won at an 80% clip in the recent history of this series.

There are plenty of questions surrounding the Eagles entering this season, especially on offense, where new offensive coordinator Sean Mannion has installed a completely new scheme. They also lost star wide receiver A.J. Brown in the offseason and did not replace him with players of the same caliber.

Even if the new-look offense struggles in its first game, it should be able to do enough to maintain Hurts’ perfect record in Week 1. It also helps that the defense should once again be one of the best in the league in its third season under potential Hall of Fame coordinator Vic Fangio.

Why the Commanders could win

Price: $0.32 at Polymarket US

Divisional games are often closer than expected. A matchup that seems lopsided on paper often looks more even on the field when teams are more familiar and have spent more time studying each other compared to most other teams.

There is also some randomness to Week 1, before teams and analysts have had a chance to see how offseason changes will affect the on-field performance.

With a star quarterback like Jayden Daniels and skilled playmakers like Terry McLaurin and Stefon Diggs, the Commanders can create explosive plays even against a defense as stout as the Eagles.

To pull off the upset, Washington will need to win the time of possession and turnover battles. That was their formula when they ended the Eagles’ undefeated run back in Week 10 of the 2022 season, and the same formula can work again.

Eagles vs. Commanders point spread prices on Polymarket US

Why the Eagles could cover the 5.5-point spread

Price: $0.51 at Polymarket US

The Eagles have dominated the Commanders on the ground over the last two seasons. Excluding the Week 18 game last year, they have rushed for more than 200 yards on more than five yards per carry in each of their last four games.

Mannion’s new offensive system is expected to rejuvenate a rushing attack that struggled last season for various reasons, including an injury-ravaged offensive line.

The line is healthy to start the season, and Saquon Barkley should be more fresh coming off a season with a much lighter workload compared to his record-breaking 2024 campaign.

If the run game behind Barkley and a healthy offensive line can be as effective against Washington as it has been in the past, they can control the game and wear down the Commanders’ below-average defense. A strong rushing attack combined with a stout defense is the recipe for Philly to win by at least a touchdown.

Why the Commanders could cover the 5.5-point spread

Price: $0.50 at Polymarket US

The argument for the Commanders to cover the spread is similar to the argument above for the Commanders to pull off an outright upset. Divisional games are often closer than expected, and Week 1 games can have unpredictable outcomes.

There is also a chance the Eagles’ new-look offense could struggle more than expected in its first live action. Mannion is an unproven playcaller in just his third season as a coach at any level.

The margin of error is small in the NFL, and if the Eagles’ offense makes a few mistakes or misses on some key opportunities, then this game could be close enough for the Commanders to cover.

That is especially true if those mistakes lead to turnovers, which is another way the Commanders could cover or potentially pull off an upset. Hurts threw more interceptions in training camp this offseason than in the rest of his career combined.

While training camp stats are not necessarily predictive, there is plenty of uncertainty over how Hurts will perform when he is asked to attack the middle of the field more than he has in the past. That could end up being a big factor in this game.

Eagles vs. Commanders total points prices on Polymarket US

The case for Over 44.5 total points scored

Price: $0.49 at Polymarket US

If the Eagles’ offense looks ahead of schedule and creates a few big plays, this could end up being a high-scoring game. The rushing attack has a chance to create explosive plays the way it did in 2024, especially against a lackluster Commanders’ run defense.

On the other side, Daniels is always a threat to create big plays with both his legs and his arm. The Eagles’ new starting cornerback Riq Woolen has a penchant for jumping routes to try to get interceptions, leaving himself vulnerable to getting beat over the top.

If Daniels can hook up with McLaurin or Diggs for a few big plays, then the Commanders can do their part to contribute to this game going over 44.5 points.

The case for Under 44.5 total points scored

Price: $0.52 at Polymarket US

It’s likely it takes the Eagles’ offense a few weeks to find its rhythm. A slow-starting offense combined with what should be a dominant defense is an easy recipe for a lower-scoring game.

Both teams’ rushing attacks are also an important factor here. The Commanders were the fourth-most run-heavy team in the NFL last season, running the ball on 48.9% of their offensive snaps. The Eagles were 6th at 47.5%.

Both of those trends are likely to continue, even with new offensive coordinators on both sides. A run-heavy game means more time running off the clock and fewer quick-strike scoring drives. That’s another formula for the total points to stay under 44.5.

How Polymarket US works for NFL trading

Sports fans familiar with sports betting who are getting started with prediction market trading should understand the difference between the two similar but distinct systems. Here is a quick overview to help you get up to speed quickly after you sign up with the Polymarket promo code NJCOM.

Polymarket US is not a betting site. It’s a peer-to-peer trading platform where users buy and sell contracts predicting the outcome of games and other events.

Contracts cost between $0.01 and $0.99 and pay out $1 if you get the prediction right. If you get the prediction wrong, the user who bought the other side of that contract receives the $1.

That’s one of the big differences between prediction markets and sportsbooks. There is no “house” on Polymarket US. The site does not profit when you get a prediction wrong. It makes money based on trading volume by charging small fees on most transactions.

The cost of those fees is comparable to the “vig” at sportsbooks, so from a trader’s perspective the cost of using Polymarket US is similar to the inherent cost of placing bets.

However, another big difference is that some trades on Polymarket US do not incur any fees. If you place a limit order, which means you offer a price below the market price, you usually need to wait for another user to accept your trade (which might not happen).

Orders that do not get processed instantly may not be charged any fees, or the fees might be lower than when placing an instant order at the market rate.

Don’t worry if some of that sounds complicated. Polymarket US makes it easy to see what you’re paying (including any fees) and what your potential payout is for any trade. Most new users get the hang of it after just a few trades.

Note: Event contract trading involves the risk of substantial loss and is not suitable for all investors. Prediction market content is not intended for individuals in jurisdictions where they are prohibited.
