Eagles’ Jordan Mailata isn’t even acknowledging Jeffery Simmons’ Jalen Hurts slander

The Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for their clash against the Tennessee Titans at Nissan Stadium on Sunday. The Eagles are coming off a narrow escape against the Washington Commanders, 24-22, in Week 1.

Philadelphia quarterback Jalen Hurts dusted off a sluggish start and made big plays in the fourth quarter to complete the hard-earned win.

Ahead of their meeting, Titans defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons said they know how to stop Hurts.

“We just need to make Jalen Hurts be a QB. Stop his runs, make sure Hurts doesn’t get out of the pocket and make plays,” said Simmons.

When told about Simmons’ claim, Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata brushed it off, while also subtly shading the media.

“I don’t pay attention to that stuff. That’s clickbait stuff. That’s what you guys get paid for,” said Mailata, as quoted by The Athletic’s Zach Berman.

“I only care about everyone in this locker room. This locker room is all I give a damn about. I don’t care what you guys say about this locker room. I don’t care what any other locker room says about this locker room. This is my focus.”

Hurts went 14-of-25 for 203 yards, three touchdowns, and zero interceptions against the Commanders. He also ran for 46 yards on seven carries.

Eagles coach Nick Sirianni touted Hurts’ dual-threat ability.

“One of the things that makes Jalen such a special quarterback is that he can do it through the air. He can do it running the show. He can do it with his legs when he needs to make plays,” said Sirianni in a report from the Associated Press.

Philadelphia stuffed Washington’s two-point attempt in the final minute to preserve the two-point victory.
