Chase delivered two touchdown catches, including a spectacular 32-yard grab. Lawrence made a pivotal fourth-and-inches stop on David Montgomery and added pressure later in the game. Houston struggled to capitalize on its opportunities. The Texans failed to convert four fourth-down attempts. Their running game managed just 18 yards. CJ Stroud threw for 353 yards. However, the Texans never found the end zone, with star receiver Nico Collins sidelined.
The loss dropped Houston to 0–2 after a 36–31 defeat to Buffalo in Week 1. This has left Ryans’ team facing an immediate response test against the Indianapolis Colts.
